AOI:- Diafra Sakho has suffered a setback with his back. Because of the complexity of the problem, we saw the specialist in France and decided to give him a period of rest, so he will return early in June to prepare for next season.

A period of rest! Fuck me he's been resting for the last 6 months.
After all the medical care and attention the bloke's had in the last couple of years, yet still he's not fit, you have to conclude he's a write off . Just fuck him off, because it's not worth wasting more money on him.

And I've hated this season. I've endured all the relegation fights we've had since the early 60's (successful and unsuccessful) and this without a doubt has been the worst for me.

Think most of us who've been going for years feel the same mate, proper shit cunt of a season this has been.

I think those that have ended in relegation have undoubtedly been worse. In terms of my memories, that season under Roeder was frustrating and miserable as was the relegation under Grants stewardship where I really worried for the clubs future at times.

This season has been a frustration of the sort where in classic west ham style, signing the players to make us a better side moving to a new arena and generally attempting to move the club forward has backfired. That together with the presnnial injury curse which dogs us like never before.

But yes, I can't wait for this season to end too.

At the very great risk of provoking you, I obseeved the reactions and attitutes of posters on this site during relegation. There was a lot of frustration and anger (understandable) during the build up, to the point of relegation (the end of the season). Then pretty much without exception, you very quickly accepted it with humour and started looking for the positives. Then to my surprise, you all seemed to enjoy yourselves probably more, while West Ham was playing in 'the championship'. Probably because we win more games.

I'm preparing for flak, but really, you are a more miserable bunch of barks when West Ham are in the Prem.

I notice they don't actually say Sakho will return in June for pre season training but to prepare for next season, I suspect he's already a write off for 1st few months next season too.

Re: ⚽ Burnley v West Ham - The Official Match Thread
They say its a complex back problem and have decided on a period of rest

Medical translation : Period of rest means we don't have a fucking clue what to do so are going to do nothing for a while.
Usually means everyone sits around for 3 months then decides he needs another operation.
Cant see him ever playing for us again.

Apart from your final conclusion, you're absolutely right. Winning engenders positivity.

What's the betting that useless lump of shit Calleri starts today? Just give Fletcher a chance, at least he's our bloody player and looks like he gives a damn.

It's been a shambles of a season, on the pitch and off.

How much of the frustration is due to many of us, although old enough to know better, thinking we might actually have turned a corner after last season ? I'm just glad it'll soon be over.

Cheers for the thread, charley, as ever.

COYFI !
